Well the year has come to an end and the new one has started and so I wanted to take a little time to reflect on the past year. I've been so lucky to work with such amazing people. Over this past year I learned a lot about myself, my photography skills and running a photography business. I've learned to be confident in my skills and the photos that I create. My wife Mandy always jokes about how I usually come home from a photoshoot and am discouraged cause I don't think I got any good photos. Well after looking through the photos we always find good ones. There were a lot of lessons learned from 2010 and I plan to improve upon those and create more fun photos in 2011!

This last year has definitely made me question whether I can do this full time. The desire and drive are there for me but the one thing that will help me to make this a reality is YOU! I rely solely on word of mouth and your referrals. I hope that each and every one of you will think of me when you're looking for a wedding photographer, senior portrait photographer, family photographer, and newborn photographer. Do you know someone getting married? Are you or a friend a senior in high school? If we got the opportunity to work together this year and were happy please share my name with your friends and family! I really enjoy working with each of you and have a blast creating fun photos!

Success By Accident

I got another opportunity to get on the field as a photographer for the Seattle Sounders FC playoff match against the LA Galaxy. I was super excited for this because it was the first time David Beckham played in Seattle with the Galaxy. The other times LA had been in town he was either hurt or probably off shooting some underwear ad. I'm not the biggest soccer fan by any means but standing a foot away from him was pretty surreal. I could almost reach out and touch his hair. I tried but there seemed to be a force field around it preventing me. Another guy it was fun to see up close and personal was Landon Donovan. I spent many hours watching the World Cup rooting the US on and now I was rooting against this guy in the MLS playoffs.

Unfortunately the score this night was not as good as the last match I shot. The Seattle Sounders FC lost 1-0 to the LA Galaxy. As it was the playoffs the Sounders still had an opportunity to move on to the next round if they beat the Galaxy by 2 goals during their match in LA. They lost in LA 2-1 on Sunday and their season was over.

I had a great time shooting those two games and I hope to do it again next year!
